Founder & CEO – Shubhangi Sawant
It is a general belief in our society, that the role of women is restricted to four walls of the home or mainly for household activities. With the growing industrialization, the spread of knowledge and awareness and to support the family income many women have shifted from the kitchen to higher levels of entrepreneurship.
As rightly said by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru ” when women move forward, the family moves, the society moves, and the nation movies “
I had seen the plight of the women of low financial strata and how they are harassed by their family members which caused deep trauma to me, I had decided then, that I will start an organization that will support these women, make them financially independent and can support the family income so that they can fulfill their basic needs, educate their children.
To fulfill this dream I thought of starting the Kitchen extension activities such as different types of spices, Tea masala which is our traditional cottage industry. The Multipurpose Masala, which I have developed after studying the market has become a household name.
7 years back, with full co-operation from my family members, friends and well-wishers, I started this business of Masala production, with just Rs. 5000/ -capital and employed three women with low socio-economic strata and today I have a rented factory premises with all the machines required for the production of the different types of masala and have employed more than 150 women who do the sale of these products from door to door during their free time after completing their household work. I educate them about sanitation and also about marketing the products and many of them help me in providing the raw material for my different Masala products
I am happy to stat that I could be of some help for ` these underprivileged women to earn money and they could help to improve their financial status
